Rogerio Ceni is a legend. The biggest idol of São Paulo Futebol Clube. A record breaker goalkeeper who’s scored more than 131 goals in his career and been an inspiration for me during childhood.
In 2014 I picked a famous Brazilian song, Faroeste Caboclo from Legião Urbana, and rewrote the lyrics. I spent 2 weeks rewriting 168 verses, making sure it all rhymed and fit the rhythm in chronological order. All to document his journey in a more fun and relatable way. From failures that made me cry. To successes that made me cry more.
I asked my cousin to sing in one take and I edited the film using footage I found online.
In only one week, the video got +1 million views on Youtube and all FB fan pages that uploaded the video directly in the platform. Thousands of positive comments. And a few hundreds of very negative ones. From the rival supporters, of course :)
